<p>The Vancouver Canucks are reportedly exploring their options for J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson, including the possibility of trading both players.</p>

<p>Sportsnet&#8217;s Elliotte Friedman <a href="https://x.com/Sportsnet/status/1875723689993630020" target="_blank" rel="noopener">conducted his weekly Saturday Headlines</a> on Hockey Night In Canada, where he was asked about where things stand with the ongoing saga involving the Canucks&#8217; two star forwards. He reported that while both have not requested a trade out of Vancouver, the team is gauging the market for the two, and they seek a centre in return should a deal materialize:</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Canucks are quiet this weekend. I guess they feel, and probably rightly so that the interview did enough [and] there&#8217;s nothing else they need to say. So in calling around, this is what I can tell. It&#8217;s that the Canucks are definitely looking at the market for both players,  and you should be prepared for all outcomes. And there&#8217;s really three of them: Neither gets dealt, one of them gets dealt, or both get dealt.  That&#8217;s on the table, and I don&#8217;t want to predict the likelihood of any particular scenario, but I think one all three of those outcomes are possible.</p>
<p>&#8220;Other things I can tell just from making the calls. I think if the Canucks do make a trade, they&#8217;re going to need a centre in return. I know the Canucks fans right now are concerned about the defence, with Hughes and Hronek injured. But I believe the team has prioritized a centre in a return more than the blue line because obviously they&#8217;d be trading a centre if one or both was to go. So as part of the package, and I would assume it would be a package back for either of those two players, a center would be the priority as part of it.  And Ron, one of the things there have been some reports that maybe someone in Vancouver has asked for a trade. I can find no proof of that at this point in time.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>The interview that Friedman mentioned at the start was one <a href="https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/qa-canucks-gm-patrik-allvin-expects-more-from-top-players-in-2025/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sportsnet&#8217;s Iain MacIntyre</a> did with Canucks&#8217; GM Patrik Allvin, where he stressed that he wanted to see more out of his top players. In a season that has been filled with many ups and downs for the Canucks, this latest wrinkle in the Miller-Pettersson dispute signals there may be a resolution on the horizon.</p>
<p>Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford will have until the March 7th trade deadline to decide what to do with their two star forwards.</p>
