<p>It was a very quiet day at the rink on Tuesday morning ahead of the Vancouver Canucks hosting the Nashville Predators on Halloween night.</p>
<p>The biggest story heading into the game may be the jerseys, as the Canucks will dawn their Black Skate jerseys for the first of 15 times this season.</p>
<p>As we mentioned, there was not a lot to see from the morning skate but we did talk with Elias Pettersson, Anthony Beauvillier and Rick Tocchet &#8212; so you can expect a bigger what was said section compared to the sad little what we saw section that I&#8217;m about to write.</p>
<p>Speaking of that sad little section&#8230; here it is.</p>
<h1>What we saw</h1>
<p>Jack Studnicka, Noah Juulsen, Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith were the only Canucks players on the ice as they worked on some drills with a few coaches including Ian Clark, one of the Sedins and Yogi Svejkovsky.</p>
<p>Aside from the Black Skate logo all over the rink, that&#8217;s what we saw.</p>
<p>You can expect the lines to be the same as what we talked about yesterday aside from the Dakota Joshua and Studnicka swap.</p>

<p>Tocchet confirmed Demko would be in net and the morning skate duo of Juulsen and Studnicka would be the scratches.</p>
<h1>What was said</h1>
<p>Elias Pettersson was asked about the Canucks having the best goal differential in the NHL at five-on-five.</p>
<p>&#8220;Oh, I didn&#8217;t know that. It&#8217;s a good thing. I think we have been playing good but then again, it doesn&#8217;t come easy. So we&#8217;ve got to bring it tonight.&#8221;</p>
<p>He also was asked about why the Black Skate jerseys are so popular with the fans.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think they look the best,&#8221; said Pettersson.</p>
<p>Beauvillier spoke about building some momentum with some good vibes around this team.</p>
<p>&#8220;We feel good about our game and ourselves, the atmosphere in the room is good,&#8221; said Beauvillier. &#8220;I think we have played a lot of good hockey in the past week or two and [had] good practices and yeah, [we] feel good about ourselves&#8230; It&#8217;s just about building &#8212; feeling good about yourself. I mean, having confidence in our game and being excited to come to the rink and want to do it all over again the next day. So that&#8217;s always a great feeling. And it&#8217;s a feeling you have when you have confidence, and when you win games.&#8221;</p>
<p>Head Coach Rick Tocchet confirmed that Teddy Blueger is getting very close to returning to skating.</p>
<p>&#8220;I think he saw the doctor yesterday,&#8221; said Tocchet. &#8220;He&#8217;s going to be skating here, whether it&#8217;s tomorrow or it&#8217;s going to be very soon, which we can&#8217;t wait to see him put the skates on. He will add a lot to our team.&#8221;</p>
<p>Blueger has not played in a regular season game this season after injuring himself during a shot block in the late parts of the preseason. Blueger can play the penalty kill and centre a fourth line that has already been good for the Canucks this season. As Tocchet said, Blueger&#8217;s addition will do a lot for this team and should create even more internal competition to let the cream rise to the top&#8230;<em> of the fourth line.</em></p>
<p>The Canucks host the Predators at 7:00 pm PT tonight at Rogers Arena before hitting the road for a quick one-game road trip down to San Jose for Thursday night&#8217;s game against the Sharks.</p>
